Energy Efficiency in 5 steps

1Presentation

We explain the advantages of energy efficiency advice and arrange an appointment to carry out a preliminary energy analysis. We arrange the duration of the visit and the safety and prevention measures required for that visit.

2Preliminary analysis

We assess the needs and the advantages of carrying out a full energy analysis.

3Analysis

We analyse the aspects of the facilities that can be improved. If the saving possibilities exceed 20% of total consumption, our technical team will identify the relevant aspects of the facilities to be improved, and will agree the technical details with the person in charge of the facilities.

On a date arranged between both parties, we will take the necessary measurements in the facilities, making a note of all the details required to prepare the energy audit.

We can manage the public subsidies and aid aimed at covering the costs of the energy report both at a national and autonomous level.

4Final energy report

Once the data from the facilities has been analysed, we will issue the final energy report.

This includes an analysis of the current technical status of the facilities, the proposed corrective measures and the financial cost estimate.

5Implementation of corrective measures

Taking the energy report into account, we will recommend the best solutions for you to apply to your facilities in order to achieve maximum energy efficiency.

Self-consumption of photovoltaic energy in the meat industry

Company with a significant electricity consumption level throughout the day. This energy dependence has a direct effect on the cost of its products and, consequently, on its competitiveness. These types of companies are very vulnerable to tariff rises imposed by the electricity company in question.

Solution

A photovoltaic self-consumption system has been installed so that they can generate their own energy (approx. 25%) for consumption in real time.

Given that consumption is always higher than production, 100% of the energy generated is consumed.

Characteristics

  • System’s rated power: 10 kW (11 kWp).
  • Estimated life of the installation: 25 years
  • Required surface on the roof: 200 m2

Benefits

  • Energy saving: 15,500 kWh/year
  • Economic saving (25 years): 44,000 €
  • Reduction in CO2 emissions: 9.75 tn/year

Investment

  • 18,700 € (turnkey)*
  • Amortization period: 8 years (approx.)**
  • *This value may vary, depending on several variables.
  • ** This data has been obtained by taking into account Spanish legislation as of 10/12/2013

Maintenance

Very low

Swimming pool with a photovoltaic pumping system

Objective of the system:
To recycle the water from the pool on a daily basis

  • Without being affected by price rises
  • Use in indoor or outdoor swimming pools

Description of the installation

  • Swimming pool in a residential complex.
  • Pool volume: 150 m3
  • The water will be recycled every day of the year, once or twice a day.

Technical solution

  • 1 x LORENTZ PS1800 CS-37-1 system
  • Dynamic head: 3.0 m
  • Average daily pumping rate: 177 m3/day
  • Pool volume: 150 m3
  • Photovoltaic solar power: 4 x 240 Wp = 960 Wp

Summary

  • Turnkey cost: 4,000 € + VAT (approx.)
  • Amortization of the electricity grid: 8 years (approx.)
  • Amortization of the generator: 3.5 years (approx.)
  • Additional maintenance: Cleaning of photovoltaic modules.

Poultry farm

Description of the installation

  • New-build chicken farm. This building houses nests of 35,000 chickens (32,000 in summer).
  • The building is closed, with no natural light and with forced ventilation.
  • With artificial light, the birds’ behavioural habits are kept under control.

Electricity consumption

  • This farm has no connection to the electricity grid and all the power comes from a generator or photovoltaic solar energy.
  • The installation needs an energy supply 24 hours a day.

Technical description

Farm
  • Type: Three-phase 230/400 V (T/N)
  • Daily consumption: 120 kWh (average)
  • Maximum power: 22 kW

  • Rated power of the inverter: 6 kVA (single-phase)
  • Installation autonomy: 2 days
  • Photovoltaic power: 2.3 kWp
  • Generator: It is used six hours a week on average. It works as a back-up when there is no solar energy or energy in the batteries.

Investment in the photovoltaic installation

  • Approximate cost (turnkey): 25,000 € (not including the generator)
  • Amortization period if only one generator is put in place: 3 years
